Here’s the deal. Sami Sheen, Charlie’s daughter with Denise Richards, decided to join the website OnlyFans. If you don’t know what OnlyFans is, well … we’d say look it up, but that might be a bit of a surprise. Suffice it to say, it is a subscription-based repository of adult content. Sami, who recently turned 18, opted to start a page and sell subscriptions.
Her mother was very supportive, taking to social media to post her feelings.
“I wish I had the confidence my 18 yr old daughter has. And I also can't be judgmental of her choices. I did Wild Things & Playboy, quite frankly her father shouldn't be either. And to be able to ignore the negativity at her age? It took me many years & I still sometimes struggle.”
Pretty solid parenting there, Denise. Your kid is an adult and capable of making her own choices.
Charlie, alas, didn’t see it that way. Not initially, anyway. He told Page Six as much, saying:
“I do not condone this, but since I’m unable to prevent it, I urged her to keep it classy, creative and not sacrifice her integrity.”
Not great, but it took just a couple of days for him to change his tune. After a conversation with Richards, he reversed course, saying things like “Denise has illuminated a variety of salient points, that in my haste I overlooked and dismissed” adding “Now more than ever, it’s essential that Sami have a united parental front to rely on, as she embarks on this new adventure. From this moment forward, she’ll have it abundantly.”
Now, you might be wondering where the Slam is. In this case, there isn’t one. Oh, we would have had a field day taking old Tiger Blood Warlock Charlie Sheen to task for acting the hypocrite, but instead, we get to celebrate a guy being self-aware enough to recognize that his adult daughter is old enough to make her own decisions. Honestly, we just love the idea of Charlie Sheen thinking that he has a leg to stand on as far as preaching morality to his kid.
As for Denise Richards – good on her. She’s someone who sees her own younger choices in what her daughter is doing and opts to be supportive. Making the conscious decision to respect your child’s choices – choices that are that child’s to make, to be clear – is a thoughtful and mature response to what admittedly must be a complicated situation.
And no, we’re not going to Slam Sami Sheen for her choice either. She’s a grown woman who has every right to make a living how she chooses. She’s not hurting anybody and is absolutely within her rights to embrace her sexual nature in this way. Her body, her choice – that’s how it works.
That’s it. That’s what we’ve got. No judgment. Best wishes to them all.
