Celebrity Slam - 6ix9nine snitches

It’s no secret that we get a lot of mileage out of beefs here at Celebrity Slam. These sorts of celebrity feuds are great fun for us to explore, scorning and mocking the nonsense spouted from famous people of all stripes.

But sometimes, we get something that allows us to dig a little deeper. We get someone who is fully committed to being as big a jerk as possible. Whatever the reasons behind their behavior, there’s a lot of joy to be derived from them.

And every once in a while, we get a REALLY good one.

For those who are unaware, hip-hop artist Tekashi 6ix9ine (yes, that’s how he spells his name) has been dealing with the repercussions of his purported gang affiliations. His method of dealing with that has been essentially to name names, outing a number of fellow artists – including notables like Cardi B and Jim Jones – and spelling out their specific affiliations.

We’re not going to get into the details here, because we simply don’t have the time, but we are going to talk about the attitude he is dropping in response to the haters who have been addressing his choices in public forums.

Cardi B and Jim Jones are peeved, of course, but there are plenty of other hip-hop folks who feel strongly about Tekashi’s actions – Snoop Dogg, Meek Mill, 50 Cent, 21 Savage and a whole bunch of others have made their feelings known about Tejashi’s willingness to talk to the authorities.

Perhaps the best part of the whole thing is Snoop Dogg going on social media and really swinging hard at Tekashi. He brought up his good pal Martha Stewart in an Instagram post:

“As we watch Tekashi 69 (or whatever his name is) snitch on EVERYBODY, I invite you all to remember Martha Stewart snitched on NOT ONE soul during her trial. Baby girl kept it 10 toes down and ate that prison sentence by herself, like the true baddie she is.”

Meanwhile, Tekashi seems convinced that none of this is going to have the least little impact on his life going forward. He thinks that his fans are going to forget about all of this immediately upon his return to the limelight. He figures that he’s more popular than ever among the public and that he’s going to make even more money going forward.

He’s basically saying that any of the man, MANY people in the rap game that have spoken against him are jealous. And it isn’t just envy, either – he says that they are straight up threatened by him and that they are just scared that they’re going to be left behind when Tekashi gets out and starts making hits again.

(All this assumes that his naming of names doesn’t come back to bite him; he has apparently refused witness protection, so things could get very complicated for him when all of this is finally over and done with.)

This is some beefy goodness right here.

Obviously, we here at Celebrity Slam are strong adherents to the notion that snitches get stitches. We also keep it 10 toes down, as far as that goes. For someone like Tekashi 6ix9ine, who is so recent that he still has that new rapper smell, to start dropping dimes on literally anyone he can think of in an effort to move some of the heat off himself, well … that’s a bold choice.

You would think that someone so involved in an industry where street cred is of the utmost importance would have a little more respect for the notion of keeping things on the down low. But again, when you’re a certain kind of coward, you’ll do anything to protect yourself in the face of any sort of potential ramifications for your choices.

This whole “they’re just jealous” deal is some self-deluded nonsense; Tekashi KNOWS that what he’s doing makes him look terrible. He’s a whimpering, simpering punk who simply can’t fathom that he is subject to the same rules as everyone else. He doesn’t seem to know that this sort of thing is going to end badly for him, no matter how much puffed-chest posturing he does.

But Snoop knows. Snitches get stitches.
