Oh “Tekken,” how you've entertained us for so many years.

We've seen you in arcades, with kids, teens and adults lined up to fight each other to see who the king of “Tekken” was. We've seen you on our console systems, bringing both story modes, and the ability to sit on the couch or play online with your best friend and fight each other with your favorite character. Now, we finally get to see you on our mobile devices, and I love BANDAI NAMCO for finally giving this to us.

Not much needs to be said about “Tekken,” but for those who are unfamiliar with it, “Tekken” is simply a fighting game that sees you choosing a character and engaging in hand-to-hand combat with another fighter. You engage in a best out of three round style. Win two rounds and you’re done. The game sees you competing in a “tournament” against all the other characters, having to defeat them one by one.

With over 20 characters to unlock, there is much time to waste grinding away to unlock that next character. With a story mode, online battling and live events, there is much to keep you entertained.

There are a few micro transactions, but they certainly don’t get in the way of this fantastic mobile game. You might not get the nostalgic feeling of playing it at the arcade or the comfort of the controller on your gaming console, but it sure feels nice to play it in the palm of your hand wherever you are, at any time.

“Tekken” is free to download on the Android and IOS stores.
