Back in 1989, the Apple II series computer saw a fun little platformer game called “Prince Of Persia”. In this game, you controlled an unnamed protagonist (presumably the Prince of Persia) who had to venture out through different dungeons to defeat an evil villain and save a captured princess.

Sounds like most games of its time, right? Well, now, in the wonderful world of video game remastering, we now get a mobile facelift of that 1989 version in the entity of “Prince of Persia: Escape.”

In “Prince of Persia: Escape”, the premise of the game remains the same. An endless runner game that sees you in beautifully animated 3D levels, jumping over obstacles while running non-stop. There are even obstacles that you must scale, stuff like two walls with ledges that you must climb to the top of. You must make your way to the end of each level, whole avoiding fire, spikes, open pits and more. Timing is everything, as a mistimed jump will see you hanging from a wall, falling to your death or becoming impaled on spikes. You can also collect gems on each level to help upgrade your character or unlock different characters.

Sadly however, gone from the 1989 PC game are the sword fights you have with the villain at the end of certain levels. If you like this game though, you can also check out the movie that was based on this series from its many iterations over the years.

“Prince of Persia: Escape” is free to download on the Android and IOS stores.
