One of the cornerstones of any side-scrolling video game is the ability to jump. From the very beginning, jumping has been at the very least important and often absolutely crucial to success when playing these sorts of games. The player's judgment regarding when and how to jump is a significant key to victory.

But what if that judgment was removed from the equation.

That's what you get from 'Jumphobia.' You're a faceless fellow tasked with sprinting through a variety of rooms which are set up to kill you in interesting ways; monsters, spikes, buzzsaws you know, the usual. With all of this going on, it's obvious that you're going to have to do some jumping. But there is no jump button. Instead, you just go ahead and leap off a ledge. Boom you're jumping!

Now, you've got some control while in the air, so you can steer. However, the assorted obstacles aren't interested in making it easy for you. And there's all kinds of things like arrows that change the direction of gravity that you're going to have to scheme your way through.

'Jumphobia' isn't particularly complex just a lone dude running through caves and leaping from ledges but it is surprisingly fun. You'll find yourself rooting for your fella as he careens through this adventure. You can find the app on Google Play or iTunes; you can also play for free at
