Time Waster - Cube Escape: Seasons'

This is a chilling puzzle/escape game. For those not familiar, an escape game is one where you look for clues to escape your surroundings. 'Cube Escape: Seasons' takes a more cerebral approach. You are in a single room at different points in time, uncovering what happened to the woman who lived in the room and finding out if you are responsible for her grisly demise and to see if there is anything you can do to change the course of events.

This game is both surreal and at times almost unbearably creepy. The mood is perfectly set, and gets increasingly more disturbing as you progress through the four levels. If you don't find your skin crawling at certain parts, well, you're a better player than I am.

A few snags in immersion were realizing that you need to zoom in to certain areas to check for clues. They will not be visible from 10 feet away, but are glaringly obvious at three feet. So if you don't peer really close at a certain area, you can miss something vital, only to kick yourself when you have to check the walkthrough.

The music, the clues, the strange sense of losing oneself in this world and its grim drama is compelling. And the sense of being able to maybe change things is also moving. This is a powerful and disturbing game. If you need something to creep you out and challenge you a bit, give it a go. Check out all of their moody games at
