Time Waster - Swords and Souls'

'Swords and Souls' is a fun fighting game from Armor Games. You design your 'soul' (your character) and then fight in the arena to earn enough soul credits to get out (and buy sweet gear, design your house and improve your training studio). Your avatar fights various baddies from town guards to goblins in the arena. This is your main source of income when you beat the boss at the end of each battle, you get a chest filled with experience, potions, spells and more.

One of the best features is the training studio. This has five mini-games that level you up, give you a chance to win four-leaf-clovers, and are actually fun. As you get better, you can take on bigger baddies and unlock new skills and talents that you can invest points in. The mini-games are fun and challenging. Some of the combos require a high level of skill on the part of the player more than you'll typically use in the arena, so it's nice to have the challenge without feeling like a giant loser.

There is also a bank feature that adds just a touch of idle-gameplay feel. The better your character is, the more money you make in your off time, which means better equipment, nicer house and even more money. You get rewarded for your investments. It's a very nice feature. In the museum you can see galleries of bosses you've smashed, pictures of monsters you've mangled and a weird mushroom you can feed the clovers to. You get rewarded with varying randomized rewards (experience, coins, potions and occasionally nothing).

My biggest complaint is that there is no option to design a female sprite. I mean, it's 2015 I want my fake adventurer to be a fake girl, dammit. I shouldn't even have to write about this.
