Weekly Time Waster - 'Tiny Tower'

Written by Matt Fern

When I was a kid, there were a lot of cool games making their way into my childhood from the '90s. The fondest memory of them all was a game called "SimTower."

Weekly Time Waster - 'Pipezania'

Written by Allen Adams

As you might imagine, when part of your time-wasting process is searching for games that will allow you to, well, waste time, you start to get a sense of what sorts of games will and won’t provide you with what you’re looking for. Often, a snap judgment is all it takes.

Weekly Time Waster - ‘Circuit’

Written by Allen Adams

It’s no secret that I tend to eschew the more complicated games in this space. Weekly Time Waster isn’t about finding those games in which you can invest hours and hours of playtime. Rather, it’s about finding those games that will allow you to kill a few minutes before class or between meetings.

Weekly Time Waster – ‘Hex Blocks’

Written by Allen Adams

I know, I know … another game with the word “blocks” in the title. What can I say? I know what I like when it comes to my idle time.

Weekly Time Waster - '99 Bricks'

Weekly Time Waster – ‘Block Master’

Written by Allen Adams

Often, simple is better when it comes to time wasting. Weekly Time Waster – ‘Mine of Sight’

Written by Allen Adams

Back in the day, it wasn’t nearly as easy to use your computer to idly waste time. Really, it used to be that you had to satisfy yourself with basic games like Solitaire and Minesweeper. The latter game especially made it easy to fritter away chunks of time – surprisingly large ones, in fact.

Weekly Time Waster - 'Continuity'

Written by Allen Adams

As has been long established, when it comes to timewasting, I tend to favor low-commitment puzzle games. I’m a fan of noodling around with goofy game physics or pattern recognition for a few minutes rather than committing some large chunk of time to a more involved game.

Weekly Time Waster - ‘Apple Worm’

Written by Allen Adams

There’s no denying that the holiday season can leave us all feeling a little tired and worn down. It’s a time when we feel like we’re always on the go. So while there’s not a lot of time to be wasted, the truth is that a little distraction might be just what the doctor ordered. And an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
