BANGOR - The Challenger Learning Center, 30 Venture Way, Bangor, is partnering with eWaste Recycling Solutions, LLC. (ERS) of Auburn to accept all manner of electronic waste from private individuals. Items that are accepted include:

- Electronic devices and lighting - televisions (all sizes) - microwaves

- CPUs - monitors - copiers - printers - toner/ ink cartridges

- fax machines - scanners - laptops - keyboard/mouse/peripherals

- stereos - DVD players - cell phones - remote controls - VCRs

- projectors - digital cameras - tape players - PDAs - speakers

- telephones - two-way radios - answering machines - camcorders

- CD/DVD players - electric typewriters - game systems - pagers

They will not accept smoke detectors, batteries or fluorescent lights. This is open to residents from any community. The cost to dispose of similar waste is $15 for a computer, $25 for a printer; phones and pagers would cost $5 and TVs $15.

Organizers suggest that instead of paying for disposal, to consider making a contribution to

the Challenger Learning Center of Maine. CLC staff and volunteers will be on hand to accept charitable donations during the event.

Free recycling is available for individuals only. For businesses, a fee schedule is available by calling Rick Clark, ERS at (207) 449-1709. For more information, call Challenger (207) 990-2900, ext. 3.
