According to a recent U.S. Cellular survey, 45 percent of smartphone owners turned to their devices for restaurant reviews and prices. The same survey found that 23 percent of smartphone owners used the popular Yelp app for things like restaurant reviews. The experts at U.S. Cellular have built on that and identified several other top-rated free apps designed specifically for beer and wine lovers.
- Next Glass: This unique app helps identify brews that match your preferences by building a 'taste profile' based on your ratings of other beers. Next Glass tests thousands of beers and wines, analyzing each drink's unique chemical makeup. Then the app evaluates each drink in its database against your taste profile to help you purchase drinks you'll love!
- Drync: Never forget that amazing wine you loved at a restaurant or friend's house again with the Drync app. Just take a photo of the bottle and Drync will provide pricing, ratings and availability. You can even purchase the wine straight from the app and have it delivered. Plus, a wish list feature allows you to share your favorites with friends and family.
- Plonk: Helping novices and even connoisseurs discover new wines, Plonk is a quick and informative guide to all things wine. Never be embarrassed at a dinner party again! Plonk helps users with wine pronunciation and educates on countries, styles and food pairings. Check out the periodic table of wine, which visually represents wine by its hue to help find the perfect wine for every palate.
- RateBeer: Described as the world's largest source of information on craft beer, RateBeer allows users to search or scan barcodes of beers for extensive details, reviews and ABV information. Use your current location to search for nearby establishments that serve craft beer and 'check in' to share with your friends and family.
