Multi-Award-winning Maine-produced web series returns for second season

The visually stunning, Maine-produced web series 'Ragged Isle' returns for it's second season after a very well received first go around. The series won 5 major international awards including 'Best Director' (Barry Dodd) and 'Best Series' from The Indie Soap awards in NYC and also 'Best Thriller' and 'Best Supporting Actor' (Rick Dalton) from the well established online Indie Intertube awards.

'Ragged Isle' is a culmination of Maine artists from all over the state- including writers, actors and musicians. Gorham, Maine based husband and wife duo Barry and Karen Dodd began principal photography on the series' first season in July, 2010 and recently wrapped shooting seasons two and three in November of 2011. Their second season premiered online at on May 30th.

Drawing inspiration from such cult classics as "The X-Files," "Twin Peaks," and the gothic soap opera "Dark Shadows," "Ragged Isle" has been crafted with genre fans in mind. With more than 40 talented actors and over 30 picturesque Maine locations, this project is ambitious to say the least. The entire first season was viewed at the KahBang Music and Art Festival in Bangor last year as the focus of the 'MaineStream' category. KahBang Festival founder Josh Whinery calls 'Ragged Isle' "...the newest, freshest, most innovative thing on the scene this year." The Bangor Daily News wrote, "'Ragged Isle' falls somewhere in between David Lynch's bizarre cult classic series 'Twin Peaks' and a much darker, more authentically Maine version of 'Murder, She Wrote.'"

'Ragged Isle' is a true labor of love and an heartfelt homage to the pine tree state. Maine natives, Barry and Karen Dodd are proud to showcase their home on an international platform and are thrilled and humbled by their recent recognition.

'The national anticipation and excitement for our return to the web has been overwhelming' Says Barry Dodd. 'We never imagined when we set out to create Ragged Isle that it would have had such a wide appeal. It's been very exciting to hear from fans across the globe especially when they say that they'd love to come to Maine and see where we shot Ragged Isle. We're so lucky to live in this beautiful and mysterious state.
