Time Waster: 'Coloruid'

'Coloruid' is a challenging and unique color-based game. You have a certain number of moves depending on the level. You can select from five colors (blue, green, pink, yellow and orange) and use them to fill in other colors. What makes this game interesting is that there are physics at play, and the color blobs are not always static. They can ooze out of their designated spots, and when you fill in a color with a new one, each of the boxes shakes, and it can change up your playing field.

Time Waster - Rocket Santa'

'Rocket Santa' is a launch game in which Santa is trying to get gifts to men stationed on the moon. (You realize that you don't need a ton of plot for some of these games.)

Bereft of Reindeer, Santa propels himself with increasingly more powerful rockets and collects 'space cash' on his way up (remember what I said about plot?). It's a simple game, and as you get higher you get more cash to purchase more upgrades and eventually break free of the atmosphere and shoot the moon.

Time Waster - 21 Questions Wrong

Most games test your skill in some way and this is no different, but not in the way you'd think. It's a simple premise, you have to answer 21 questions, but you have to get them wrong in order to proceed. Being wrong is harder than you think. In order to get things really wrong, you still need to know the answer. If you don't, then your odds of having to restart the game increase dramatically.

This is amped up by the fast-pace of the game. You have mere seconds to select the incorrect answer and even though there are only two options the pressure is on.

Time Waster - Adult Wednesday Adams'

Media is changing, and how we are entertained is changing with it. YouTube has some righteously solid offerings for your viewing pleasure, and you will not be disappointed if you check out Adult Wednesday Addams.

Proper credits for this find go out to Zachary Adams (no relations to the Addams Family), a mixed martial arts enthusiast who shared this link on Facebook.

Kongregate is one of my go-to sites when looking for Time Wasters (along with /r/webgames from reddit, Armor Games and Not Doppler to name a few). For the past year, Kongregate has had contests where you'd gain a certain achievement and gain a 'Kongpanion,' a cute little pal. I only had a few, since wasting time is serious business and I need to focus.

But the site now is offering a chance to experience a 'cuteness overload' and gain another Kongpanion. It is attached to games where you could earn a Kongpanion, which means you get a chance to play some fun games you may have enjoyed in the past (such as 'Curl Up and Fly' and 'Sushi Cat'), but it also leads you to many games you may not have played. And it prompts you to try games you may not otherwise try.

Time Waster - Positive Doodles'

This is one of those Time Wasters that is the exact opposite of wasting your time. It's almost like an investment but in yourself. This site is basically a Tumblr blog of cute doodles of animals or food or inanimate objects that have adorable faces and uplifting word bubbles.

The holidays are a perfect time to spend here especially if you're not enjoying the typical trappings of the season, don't have a picture-perfect home life or simply need the internet equivalent of a hug.

Time Waster - Bloons Monkey City'

Poptastic fun

Tower defense games are fun. I love them because it allows me to strategically place defenses and play a little bit, but then go back to what I was doing previously. No long-term commitment. And one of my all-time favorite tower defense games just came out with a new iteration: 'Bloons: Monkey City.'

Time Waster - Just Type This'

Typing games are a fun little diversion, but 'Just Type This' takes the challenge of being nimble on the keyboard to an entirely different level by adding videogame elements to the game play.

Yes, you type, but you are also avoiding falling blocks, spikes and missiles. And you still have to be quick and accurate something that is surprisingly difficult when you start to add a little pressure here and there. Timing is everything, especially when the aforementioned challenges are coming at you.

Growing up I watched 'Perfect Strangers,' for some reason, as kid, I was really fond of the show. It was silly, bordering on random, and I hardly recall much of it outside of the Dance of Joy, Balki and Cousin Larry. But apparently I wasn't the only one who liked it, because it ran for a staggering eight seasons. Eight years! Lordy.

But that's not even the most surprising thing. No, the most surprising thing has to be that someone took the time to make a 3D video game based on the series. I have to give credits to Errant Signal for this find, because it was watching that YouTube channel when he made mention of the game (since the developer has made another indie game that was featured on the YouTube video game review site 'Continue?9876543210').
