Homebuyer Education Class offered in Rockland

ROCKLAND - MaineStream Finance, a subsidiary of Penquis, is offering Homebuyer Education Class, held on Oct. 19 and 26 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It is a two-part class; participants will need to attend both classes. This class will help prospective homeowners determine if renting or owning a home is right for them. It covers additional topics such as: planning for home ownership, types of financing available, home selection and responsibilities and servicing for both the loan and property. The cost is $30. The classes will be held at Penquis at the new office location at 315 Main St., Rockland.

Toshiko Mori to design new CMCA in Rockland

ROCKLAND - Toshiko Mori, an award-winning international architect with long-standing ties to Maine, has been selected to design the new Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) facility in the downtown arts district of Rockland, Maine.

Announcement of the appointment was made by Marilyn Moss Rockefeller, chair of the CMCA Board of Trustees. Trustees Charlotte Dixon and Peter Gross will serve as co-chairs of the Building Committee, which will oversee the development of the new location.
