ORONO As the summer draws to a close, the University will be coming back to life as upperclassmen return and freshman arrive. Orono aims to usher in the year right with the 36th annual Festival Day. The event promises to be grand and will spread throughout town from Mill Street to the University Steam Plant. It will run all day Saturday, Sept. 7.

A great many activities have been planned for the day. Activities will be set up at the Asa Adams school, Orono Public Library, Municipal parking lot, Mill Street and the Steam Plant. And there will be something for everyone. Games are provided for the kids, as well as a truck petting zoo with several heavy machines set up to be climbed on. Crafts for children and a celebrity reading tent will be set up.
