Kibbles and Picks 2016 Week 7

Wellit was fun while it lasted.

Turns out my comeback run was destined to be all too brief. I put up a real stinker in Week 6, managing to go just 7-8 the first sub-.500 week of the season on either side. Stella didn't have a spectacular week, but 9-6 is enough to neatly erase the meager gains I made last week.

Kibbles and Picks 2016 Week 4

Slow and steady wins the race. At least, I hope so.

Week 3 wasn't a great one for either Stella or I, but it was ever-so-slightly better for me. I managed a 9-7 record on last week's slate, while she went 8-8; in essence, we simply flip-flopped our Week 2 records, leaving Stella with the same three-game lead she had after the opening week.

Kibbles and Picks 2016 Week 3

All things considered, it could have been worse.

Things looked good for me going into the last few games last week where I promptly finished with three straight losses. I wound up going 8-8 overall; not bad for a week featuring so many surprises.

Kibbles and Picks 2016 - Week 2

To those right-minded folks out there who predicted that Stella's quest for three out of four would start fast and furious (furry-ous?) well done.

Kibbles and Picks 2016 - Week 1

It would seem that I'm a glutton for punishment.

Kibbles and Picks is back for its fourth year. For those unfamiliar, Kibbles and Picks is a battle of prognosticative powers between myself and my dog Stella. Each week, she and I will pick the winners of each game on the NFL slate. We will tally the totals and hopefully I will manage to outperform the pup.

How Donald Trump took on the NFL

WASHINGTON More than 30 years ago, Donald Trump bought a franchise in the upstart United States Football League. He then led his fellow owners to sue the NFL in a high-stakes antitrust case.

The head-on challenge and his ownership of the New Jersey Generals was an early testing ground for the swashbuckling approach that the celebrity businessman-turned-Republican presidential candidate has brought to his 2016 campaign.

'Donald was the big, crazy-spending owner, and the NFL guys were scared to death of him,' said Bill Tatham Jr., an owner of the USFL's Arizona Outlaws who came to admire Trump's tactics.
