Educator Hank Lunn to portray Civil War soldier
AUGUSTA - The Friends of the Maine State Museum hosts educator and living history interpreter Hank Lunn of Camden in the next free program in the Maine Voices from the Civil War lecture series. Lunn will present the program The Life of a Maine Soldier during the War Between the States on Wednesday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Maine State Museum.
Wearing a uniform similar to that of a Union soldier, Lunn will portray the Civil War experiences of Maine soldier Myron W. Harris of Littleton, Maine. Harris joined the 20th Regiment Maine Infantry Volunteers in August 1862 and fought at Little Round Top under the command of Joshua Chamberlain during the Battle of Gettysburg. In Harris's 'voice,' Lunn will tell stories of the hardship and valor of that battle, as well as the everyday life of a common Union soldier.
