Death in Penobscot River

Bangor Police Department: Media Information Release - May 11th 2015

Shortly after 9pm on Saturday, May 9th --- the Bangor Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a person falling into the Penobscot River near Front Street. The following is an update to the previous two news releases. Through the efforts of the Maine Marine Patrol and the Maine State Police Dive team, the body of a deceased male was recovered on the morning of May 10th. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has confirmed that the individual recovered from the Penobscot River on May 10th was 43 year old William Bell of Glenburn, Maine. The investigation is continuing and no further information will be released at this time. Sgt.
