AUGUSTA - The Kennebec Valley Art Association's Art & Artisan Fair presented in partnership with the Marketplace at Augusta will return this spring in a larger space. This two day event is scheduled for Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1, 2016. Maine creatives will be showcased in the in The Marketplace at Augusta, in the same area as Barnes & Noble from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The set-up time is 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, April 30.

Sponsored by The Marketplace at Augusta, the Art & Artisans Fair will be advertised to the public via print and radio ads, social media, signage, invitation cards and more.

HALLOWELL - On Sunday, Dec. 2, local artist Claudia Brahms will teach a printmaking workshop at the Harlow Gallery at 160 Water Street in Hallowell. The workshop time is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the cost is $40 for members of the Kennebec Valley Art Association or $45 for non-members, plus a $15 materials fee. Benefit art exhibition returning to the Harlow

HALLOWELL The Kennebec Valley Art Association invites the community to attend the opening reception of 8x10x100 on Friday, Nov. 30, 5-8 p.m. at the Harlow Gallery at 160 Water Street in Hallowell. 8x10x100 will be on view through Dec. 8. It is ending on the day of Christmas in Olde Hallowell Saturday, Dec. 8. Gallery hours are Wednesday to Saturday, noon to 6 p.m., and special Sunday hours for this show only are noon to 4 p.m.

Mapping the Air

AUGUSTA - The Kennebec Valley Art Association is pleased to present Mapping the Air, a collaborative installation by artists Donna Parkinson of Freeport and Sarah Vosmus of Bowdoin, at the lobby gallery at 45 Memorial Circle in Augusta. On view from Nov. 26 through Jan. 25, 2013, the installation is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, can be viewed from outside the building and is lit at night. The installation brings together the work of two emerging printmakers whose art, each in its own way, synthesizes intuitive, quick decision-making ideals with organic forms and an environmentally perceptive aesthetic.
