On a mission

Local church teams up with non-profit to bring fresh water to those in need

Christ has no body now, but yours.

No  hands, no feet on earth, but yours.
Yours are the eyes through which Christ looks with compassion into the world.
Yours are the feet with which Christ walks to do good.
Yours are the hands with which Christ blesses the world.

-Theresa of Avila

BANGOR If you live in Bangor, chances are you've seen All Souls Congregational Church on the corner of State Street and Broadway. It's an impressive stone church, and provides one of the three steeples that reach up over the skyline that can be seen from many a vantage point in and around the city.

EASTPORT Yarrrgh, Matey! Live entertainment will abound at the 2012 Eastport Pirate Festival in historic downtown Eastport this September 7, 8 and 9. Festival Co-Chair Don Dunbar says, 'This year we have more live entertainment planned for our downtown stage than any prior year.' Among the new headline entertainment will be several performances by Piper and Greybeard.

Ever wonder what it's like to be on a pirate ship? Julie and Brownie, otherwise known as Piper and Greybeard, will take you on a high-spirited pirate adventure on the good ship The Bonnie Lady at the pirate festival in Eastport Maine. Join them as they bring you (the new crew) on board for a rollicking sea voyage down the east coast, around Cape Cod (where we visit the Cape Cod Light) and through the Carolinas to meet up with the notorious Blackbeard. You'll also weather a storm at Cape Horn, and hopefully arrive safely with a cargo of fun in San Francisco.
