BANGOR 'The Nite Show with Danny Cashman' will celebrate WABI's 60th anniversary with a one-hour version of the show at an earlier time. "The Nite Show Celebrates 60 Years of Great TV on WABI" will air at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 29. The show will bring together WABI personalities from the past and present, blending interviews with the show's usual amount of comedy and music.

'It is sometimes mind boggling to think that WABI's vast, impressive history now includes a nearly three-year run of a local late-night talk show," said Nite Show host Danny Cashman. "When given the opportunity to honor that history, we jumped on it. We'll have some great interviews, some comedy bits that pay homage to WABI's legacy ... and - as they used to say at TV5 - something special, too."

BANGOR 'The Nite Show with Danny Cashman' has picked up a New England Regional Emmy nomination. The show's theme song, 'Nite Time Tune' was written by Brian Catell of the Jump City Jazz Band. The band performs the song live in front of the show's studio audience every week to open the show. 'Nite Time Tune' was nominated in the category of 'Outstanding Musical Composition/Arrangement' for a New England Regional Emmy Award.

'I always liked how the song came out,' said Jump City Jazz Band music director Brian Catell. 'But, without the band performing it flawlessly week after week, it wouldn't sound as good as it does. Brian Nadeau plays the melody perfectly on trumpet, Bob Roman keeps the song moving on bass, and Mike Borja keeps the beat on drums along with me on keyboard, so all of the musicians deserve a lot of credit. It's a fun, energetic song that we think sets the tone for The Nite Show every week.'
