GUILFORD/PARKMAN Maine State Police, aided by the Warden Service and the Piscataquis Sheriff's Office, have been searching this afternoon after a confirmed sighting of Robert Burton around 12 noon on July 6.

Lost and found

BOWDOINHAM State Police say the case of the missing kayak that disappeared along the Interstate is over, and the kayak has been returned to its owner. The case was resolved in part by Maine Department of Transportation Spokesman Ted Talbot. Talbot called State Police to say he saw the kayak being loaded onto an SUV. That information led to a man from greater Portland later calling in to say he had picked it up.

AUBURN Maine State Police said a Rumford woman has been charged with possessing crack cocaine after she was involved in a chase with a state trooper in the early morning of March 8 along Route 4 from Turner to Auburn.

Criminal Mischief - (02/04/15)

CHESTER A Chester man is facing charges after he allegedly assaulted his neighbor in a dispute over plowing a shared road.

Deputy Mike Knight was called to Chester and spoke with the parties involved. Due to the heated nature of the conflict, Knight asked Shane Hurd, 30, of Chester to get into his cruiser so they could drive from the area to avoid further conflict. While en route, Hurd began to suspect he was going to be placed under arrest, a suspicion that was confirmed by the deputy.
