Texting behind the wheel leads to arrest

CORINTH - A 47-year-old Corinth man was arrested over the weekend after texting behind the wheel. Authorities say Brian Barnes was traveling along the West Corinth Road around 9:15 p.m. Friday night when he lost control of his vehicle while texting and struck a utility pole. His vehicle then rolled down the snow bank before finally coming to a stop. When officers from the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene, Barnes not only admitted he had been drinking but that he was on his way to meet a lady. Subsequently, Barnes was arrested, taken to the Penobscot County Jail and charged with operating under the influence and refusing to submit to arrest.
