Three Pint Stance - Beers to FALL in love with

Although it has been a month since the Autumnal Equinox, it feels as though we are just settling into fall here in Maine. With the cooler temps and the prettying of the trees, we also see a shift in selections when it comes to beer. Here are a few autumn offerings that I am digging this year.

Some may say this is the most wonderful time of the year … and they would be correct. The time has come once again to celebrate that most wonderful of fermented beverage, the elixir that makes us merry and gives men like myself the confidence to dance in public. Yes, we salute you, beer. I’ll spare the Homer Simpson quote and simply move on to my next point.

Three Pint Stance – Gneiss turns 4!

Three Pint Stance presents: An Interview with Gneiss Brewing Company Co-Founder, Tim Bissell.

This week on the Three Pint Stance, we were lucky enough to sit down with Tim Bissell, Co-Founder and Director of Marketing and Sales at Gneiss Brewing Company in Limerick who agreed to chat with 3PS’s own Tim Bissell about their upcoming 4th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday Oct. 7 from noon - 6 p.m.

(Editor’s note: You’re killing me, Bissell. Ah, whatever. You’re just going to do what you want anyway. Happy anniversary, Gneiss.)

OK, so I’m going to level with you all. Recently, I got married to my amazing wife and that is really cool. We also went on a nine-day honeymoon to San Francisco, Sonoma County and Yosemite National Park.

The best way to drink beer is to go right to the source. Visiting a brewery is a great way to get to know more about your beer, have a fresh pint and bring some home to enjoy later. While a lot of breweries offer standard bottles and cans at their tasting rooms, you might find yourself putting down a deposit for a big jug called a growler.

Three Pint Stance - Beer Meets Wood

“Beer Meets Wood - A brew fest that will not ‘leaf’ you feeling ‘board.’”

“Beer Meets Wood - A ‘barrel’ of beer-soaked fun!”

“Beer Meets Wood - Beers that could be charged with ‘trees-on.’”

(Editor’s note: Stop it.)

All right, fine.

Three Pint Stance – Be spontaneous!

What is a spontaneous beer? Is it a beer that hates making plans ahead of time and is always ready to join you on your next great adventure?

No. Well, maybe. But not always. I’m not going to presume to know a beer’s personality.

Three Pint Stance – So what’s in a glass?

Let me start by making one thing clear right off the top - there is absolutely nothing wrong with drinking a beer right from the can or bottle. Anyone who casts aspersions on those who do is a beer snob through and through.
