ORRINGTON - The East Orrington Congregational Church on the Johnson Mill Road has a large group of regulars and visitors that attend service each week. But this time of year, the church also attracts a large array of classic car owners. That's because for the third year in a row, the church is holding a classic car show to raise funds for heating assistance for its neighbors in need.

"I'm the one who came up with the idea of a car show," said George Smith, churchgoer and car show organizer. "One day I was watching the news and saw some people lost their lives due to a fire trying to heat their place unsafely. I just started to try and think of something I could do to help any way I could."

Hermon car show to benefit Project Graduation

HERMON - The seniors at Hermon High are revving things up. The students are hosting their very first car show at the school in order to raise funds for Project Graduation.

"I've grown up with cars in the family and been to many car shows, so I know quite a bit about antique cars and car shows," said Hermon High School senior Brendon Dyer. "My favorite classic car is a 1976 Pontiac Trans Am T-Top. I talk about it all the time."
