BELFAST - With five book stores in the downtown alone, Belfast is becoming known as a destination for bookworms throughout the state. The Third Annual Belfast Bound Book Festival, July 26-28, seeks to celebrate Belfast's literary tradition through author signings at downtown shops, events at the Belfast Free Library, poetry readings in galleries and on the streets and presentations on the bound book itself.

This year, Our Town Belfast is the coordinating force behind the effort. Executive Director Breanna Pinkham Bebb said, 'The book festival is an opportunity for our business community to promote itself to those who love books. We were delighted to take on a larger planning role this year because bringing people to downtown Belfast and encouraging them to support our local businesses is a large part of our mission as a Main Street community.'
