Spotlight' shines bright

Film offers compelling story, incredible performances

When it comes to Hollywood, the concept of 'based on a true story' is let's just call it flexible. Filmmakers have always played fairly fast and loose with the 'true' whenever it got in the way of the 'story.' However, the best of these films are the ones that manage to spin a powerful, compelling, genuine narrative without ever once losing sight of the facts.

Few film experiences are bigger crapshoots than Shakespearean adaptations. Sure, Shakespeare's plays are among the greatest works in literary history, but the unfortunate truth is that those works don't always translate from stage to screen particularly well. Kibbles and Picks 2015 Week 14

I suppose I should just count myself lucky that it wasn't any worse.

I managed a 9-7 record this week, just one game off the pace set by Stella, who went 10-6 and added another game to her season lead. Still, the wild finish in Green Bay kept it from being a blowout week for Stella.

So the second child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West has been born. The future reality star/cautionary tale a boy went a whole three days without getting named because Kimye Incorporated was still focus grouping possible branding options. The name could have been anything the only thing that the parents had made clear was that daughter North was going to be the only directionally-monikered member of the family. The chance was there to give the kid a relatively normal name as opposed to saddling him with something quirky.
