App'solutely a great way to save money shopping slice.com

It would have hard to guess 10 years ago that we would be using cell phones to help us save money on goods and services today. Such shopping techniques using smart phones and tablet computers are becoming increasingly popular, and thanks to numerous applications ('apps' in mobile phone vernacular) you can use your mobile devices to not only find what you need but also to save quite a bit of money.

Whether you want to save money on gas or reduce your travel expenses, there's probably an app that enables you to do it. In fact, no matter where you are, you can consult your smart phone or tablet to reduce the price of just about anything, including items you shop for on a daily basis.

Many of these shopping apps scan barcodes and subsequently find detailed information about specific products, redeemable coupons, and also search the best price for a product in your area, either at a local store or online. Once you've found the product you're looking for, you can download another app to keep track of your finances.

Here are some popular Apps for your smartphone that when shopping that can save you money:

1. Slice This is an app available for Android and iPhone that you can sync with your Gmail or Yahoo account. It searches your email inbox for online orders and helps you keep track of shipping. The best part is if Slice detects a price drop and the merchant makes price adjustments (Kohls.com and Walmart.com), the app will send you an alert.

2. Decide.com Buy now or wait? This app for iPhone, Android and iPad predicts if prices will drop or a newer model is coming soon. How many times have you bought a new product only to have the next model come out a month later? Never again by using Decide.com's buy or wait recommendation. The app will search the Web for new and rumors, prices and product information to help you make the best shopping decision.

3. Key Ring This app is available on iPhone, Android, iPad and BlackBerry and is helpful for organizing your loyalty cards. To score a discount these days, you often need to present a plastic loyalty card to prove you're in the club. Now you can forget carrying them around (or forgetting them), because Key Ring lets you store the info on your phone. Take a picture or enter the ID number, then flash your phone to save.

If you're thinking of buying new shoes, scan it first and RedLaser spits out the best prices available both online and in brick-and-mortar shops nearby.
