'Tis the season for wreath-making at UMaine

ORONO Make a lush, fragrant wreath with festive trimmings to take home this holiday season.

Patty Henner will lead the hands-on workshops geared for both first-time wreath-makers as well as seasoned professionals at the University of Maine Page Farm and Home Museum. Openings are available in sessions scheduled for 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, as well as 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4.

The fee is $18, which covers the cost of boughs, instruction and decorative trimmings. To register, or for more information, including directions, call (207) 581-4100.

Artisans' Wares Abundant at Ye Olde Holiday Shoppe

ORONO Looking to give unique, locally crafted gifts this holiday season?

Check out the Ye Olde Holiday Shoppe from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the University of Maine Page Farm and Home Museum. Twenty-seven area artisans, including woodcarvers, bread-makers, felters, photographers, knitters, jewelers and quilters, will be selling their wares at the annual market.
