AUGUSTA Maine Crafts Guild hosts its annual Augusta Fine Crafts Show on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 1 and 2, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Maine State Museum Cultural Building, 230 State Street, in the Capital Complex. Known for excellence in their craft, Guild artists will exhibit their work for sale over the course of two days.

The Augusta Fine Crafts Show is a unique opportunity to experience firsthand the direct link between Maine's long history of fine handcrafted objects and its contemporary practitioners. Admission is free.

Now in its 18th year, the Annual Crafts at the Museum Show is one of four exhibitions the Guild has hosted during the 2014 season. The Guild's mission is to support and further Maine's long heritage of excellence in craft making through statewide shows. Members gain entrance to the Maine Crafts Guild through a jury process that recognizes the highest quality of skill and craft. Come 'Encounter the Exquisite' at the Maine Crafts Guild Crafts at the Museum show in Augusta and take home some wonderful holiday gifts. A beautiful array of exquisitely made pieces for the home, the body and the heart will be for sale, including works in glass, clay, wood, precious stones and metals, paper and fiber, all superbly designed and produced and handmade in Maine. "Our goal with these shows is to create a room full of wow for the community to engage. There is so much talent in Maine. The Guild shows offer the public a chance to participate in Maine's historic commonwealth of fine crafts, to meet the artists and take home something amazing," said Charlie Jenkins, the new Guild president and Dresden glass blower.
