PROSPECT - Fright at the Fort, is returning to Fort Knox, Prospect, for 2015 and is looking for a few soggy volunteers to help scare up some great fun. Why soggy volunteers? The theme of this year's Fright is Water Over the Dammed, which will pay homage to all creepy things associated with water (though volunteer chainsaw maniacs are still welcome).

Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of two nights, from 5 until 9 p.m. and must be at least aged 18, or accompanied by an adult. Volunteers who prefer to remain out of the terrifying fray may help out by serving as group tour guides or as security helpers. Fright is the largest single fundraiser for the Friends of Fort Knox whose mission is to preserve Fort Knox and enhance its cultural, educational and economic value for the people of Maine.

Fright at the Fort has attracted over 10,000 visitors in the past and event organizers hope to top that number this year. This year, for the first time Fright will be held on five different nights, concluding on Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31. Fright will also be conducted on Fridays/Saturdays, beginning Saturday 10/17 and continuing on the 23rd, 24th, 30th (visitors should arrive by 8:30 p.m.).

Fright has launched a new, secure web site for those who plan to attend but want to avoid waiting in line by advanced purchase of express tickets.

Those interested in advanced Fright Express Tix may order them by going to FrightXTix.com.

Volunteers interested in helping out are encouraged to contact the Friends of Fort Knox This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or fill out a volunteer form at fortknox.maineguide.com/Fright.
