Eleventh annual Kitchen Tour presented by EMMC Auxiliary

BANGOR Saturday, Oct. 3, promises to be an afternoon of food, fun and fabulous kitchens as the EMMC Auxiliary presents its 11th annual Kitchen Tour. This year's tour includes a mix of six interesting and unique kitchens---three in Bangor; two in Holden and a commercial kitchen in Veazie. The tour runs 12 noon to 4 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit the new neonatal intensive care unit, made possible by EMMC's Remarkable Begins With You campaign. The Auxiliary pledge to the new neonatal unit is $400,000 over five years.

Samples from Maine vendors including food, drink and other fine products will be present at each home:

Tickets are available for $25 online at and at the EMMC Gift Shop, Patrick's Hallmark on Broadway, Rebecca's Gift Shop, the Cianchette Building, Huckleberries, Anthony John's and Miller Drug Westgate. Tickets will be $30 at the door.

The Auxiliary was established in 1893. Since its inception, the Auxiliary has contributed over $3.3 million to the hospital and its programs, doing good work and directly supporting the community. Some recent donations benefiting the community include:

$350,000 pledge to the Hero's, Hope and Healing campaign fulfilled last year

$4,000 for nursing scholarships yearly

$14,500 to Children's Miracle Network last year to benefit children in eastern and northern Maine
