Understand that getting lice doesn't mean you are dirty. Lice don't discriminate at all - in fact, they love clean hair. Make sure your little girls wear their hair tied up, and spray it with hairspray. Boys too can wear hair product like gel and spray it with hairspray. This helps to repel the lice. Lavender, tea tree and citronella oils mixed with water in a spray bottle is also a good repellent. Spray their jackets and backpacks. I haven't heard of as many cases of lice so far this year, but some outbreaks are. Check your kiddos often, as the earlier it is found the easier it will be to get rid of.
The air is less humid and your hair saw lots of sunshine this summer (I hope). I bet it is feeling a bit dry and maybe looking a bit lighter in color than usual. This is a great time to make an appointment with your hairdresser. You deserve some time to yourself. You survived summer vacation and now you have a bit of free time while the kids are in school. A deep conditioning treatment and some low lights to tame the color will look great and make you and your hair feel great.
It is also important to take care of those locks. If it is dry, then your hair is going to break and then you are going to have to cut it off. In fact, if your ends are super dry, go ahead and get yourself a new look for fall. Short hair is totally in right now and a lot less work to take care of every day. If you are not sure what you need or should do, I always recommend making an appointment for a consultation with a hairdresser.
I am sad to see summer go, but fall is always a great time of year all around and it is always a great time to change up your hair
