The Treble Choir and Youth Chorale will present a program ranging from traditional Irish music to British composer Bob Chilcott's large-scale piece 'Five Days that Changed the World.'
Irish selections will include folk songs such as'I'll Tell Me Ma,' 'Carrickfergus'and'Danny Boy,'as well as the 12th century'Cormacus Scripsit.'
Chilcott's powerful extended piece looks at five distinct events that brought people together and by their nature became a force for good. The invention of printing, the abolition of slavery, the first powered flight, the discovery of penicillin and the first man in space all things that have changed our lives for the better.
Bangor Area Children's Choir is conducted by Artistic Director Robert Ludwig and involves singers from fourteen different communities in the region.
