POLAND - Brian Enman, current Golf Professional at Bangor Municipal Golf Course has been elected to the Maine Golf Hall of Fame. Enman was joined by five other members at an induction dinner held last week at the Poland Spring Golf Club in Poland, Maine.

'This is a great honor for Brian and we are proud he is joining this elite group of Maine golf professionals,' said Tracy Willette, director of Parks and Recreation.

Brian has been a PGA member since 1980. He began his career as the Head Professional at Northport Country Club in 1978 and later moved on to become the Head Professional at Dexter Municipal Golf Course in 1982. He became the Head Professional Golf Pro at Bangor Municipal Golf Course in 1995. He replaced Austin Kelly, who he will now join as a member of the Hall of Fame. Kelly was inducted in 1997. 'It is certainly unique for the only two pros that have been at Bangor Muni to be inducted in the Hall of Fame,' added Bangor Assistant Pro Rob Jarvis.

Enman has also served as the Greater Bangor Open Tournament Director since 1995, was a member of the 1978 USGA Public Links Committee and was a former Husson University Golf Coach. He also has won several club and tournament championships.

The Maine Golf Hall of Fame was established in 1993. Candidates for induction into the Maine Golf Hall of Fame must demonstrate integrity in both competition and personal life and conduct themselves with dignity and consistent respect for the rules of golf and golf etiquette.
