Ah, who am I kidding? She's going to thrash me again.
We'll be going through the NFL slate week by week, with Stella and I each picking the winners of each game. Please bear in mind that this is strictly an entertainment proposition - neither of us is picking against the spread. I'm not because I don't understand gambling very well and Stella is not because she doesn't feel comfortable allowing her powers to be used in such a manner.
As for the first week, I'm already feeling pretty good about myself because Stella and I only differ on five games. She feels that the Rams can overcome the loss of QB Sam Bradford, while I believe RB Adrien Peterson will carry the Vikings to victory. She's a believer in Oakland, while I (reluctantly) cast my lot with the Jets. We also disagree on what might be one of the week's most hard-fought contests against my better judgment, I picked the Ravens despite my feeling that the Bengals are the better team; Stella took Cincinnati because she doesn't need to get cute with her picks. In the Tennessee/Kansas City tilt, she's got the Titans and I've got the Chiefs. And finally, in the last game of the week, I'm looking for the Chargers to win big, while Stella believes the Cardinals will stand strong at home.
So there it is. The grand experiment enters its second season. Here's hoping I can at least keep Stella's margin of victory in single digits this time around.
