Kibbles and Picks 2015 Week 14

I suppose I should just count myself lucky that it wasn't any worse.

I managed a 9-7 record this week, just one game off the pace set by Stella, who went 10-6 and added another game to her season lead. Still, the wild finish in Green Bay kept it from being a blowout week for Stella.

Week 14 sees us at odds on seven match-ups. We'll start with Buffalo going into Philadelphia; Stella thinks the Eagles will ride the momentum from last week's huge upset of the Patriots to a victory here, while I think that guys like LeSean McCoy and Sammy Watkins will push the Bills to a road win. In a game with no implications aside from draft order, I'm picking the 49ers to go into Cleveland and win, because as bad as San Francisco is, Cleveland is worse. Stella remains a bewilderingly staunch supporter of Johnny Manziel; she thinks he'll step up in a big way and lead the Browns to a win.

I like Todd Gurley to get back on track for the Rams; St. Louis will have to grind it out at home, but I think they get a big performance from the running game and a win. Stella likes the Lions to move the ball fairly easily against St. Louis and she thinks they'll stack the box to negate Gurley. Meanwhile, I've got Tampa Bay riding high, with guys like Doug Martin and rookie QB Jameis Winston playing really well. New Orleans has failed to stop offenses inferior to this Buccaneers team, so I like Tampa Bay to win at home. Stella likes the Saints; she thinks that Tampa Bay's D will have some problems of its own, and while New Orleans has struggled this year, they're still not a team with which you want to get into a shootout.

Stella likes the Colts to go on the road and take down Jacksonville, though she has expressed some misgivings about the match-up. I like the Jaguars here their offense has looked really prolific over the past few weeks and Indianapolis just won't be able to shut it down. In another road pick, Stella thinks Washington will go into Chicago and beat the Bears; I don't think the Bears will have any problem putting up a solid win on their home turf.

And finally, I like the Giants to win on the road on Monday night though I freely admit it's very much a gut pick - with receiver Odell Beckham Jr. playing a huge part in triumphing over the Dolphins. Stella's a fan of Miami's Lamar Miller and likes him to put up a big game in leading Miami to a relatively easy win over New York.

We're getting down to the nitty-gritty, folks. Four games is a lot to of ground to make upand the clock is ticking. Stella looks to have things well in paw.
