Officer Jason Linkletter was directed toward her location by several witnesses and he located Strout standing in a driveway on Somerset Street.

As a result of the investigation, Strout was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, operating after suspension and possession of schedule Z drugs after police reportedly found two Clonazepam pills on her during a search.

She was taken to Penobscot County Jail.

Waterville man assaults woman in parking lot

BREWER  Police arrested a Waterville man for reportedly assaulting a woman in the parking lot of an area motel.

On July 13, Officer Kristie Bouchard was called to the motel for an assault in progress. When she arrived, she saw a man lying on top of a woman to hold her down. He was reportedly swinging his arms and pulling her by the hair, according to police.

Bouchard ordered him off the woman, but he didn't comply. Sgt. Nelson Feero soon arrived to assist and the man was taken to the ground and ultimately arrested. He was identified as Deon Cheers, 35, of Waterville.

The woman told police that Cheers thought she had stolen money from him, which she said she hadn't.

Cheers was taken to Penobscot County Jail and charged with domestic violence assault.

Couple busted for heroin

BELFAST  Maine Drug Enforcement agents arrested two people for selling heroin last week.

MDEA agents, along with Belfast police and Maine State Police, served a search warrant on a room at the Admiral's Ocean Inn in Belfast where Asgard Tarik Gilbert, 39, and Anna Congdon, 24, both of Belfast, were staying.

Police seized 100 bags of heroin, 36 Oxycodone pills, digital scales and $1,000 in cash. Authorities say the couple was intending to sell heroin in Waldo County.

Both were arrested and taken to Waldo County Jail.

Jeepers, creeper

ORONO  A Bangor man is facing charges for reportedly entering an Orono residence in the middle of the night. Police say his only problem is he was uninvited.

On July 14, around 11:30 p.m., Orono Police were called to the residence where the caller said a man had entered her apartment and left only after the resident threatened to call police. Shortly thereafter, the victim called back and asked if police were knocking at her door. When she found out that it was not police, she asked that they get there quickly.

Officers arrived and the man was gone. The woman said she had gone to bed, leaving her door unlocked for her caretaker. When she heard someone knocking on the door, she ignored it. The knocking continued on the door and the window, and then she heard her door open. She told police she called out to ask who was there and told the person to leave.

The man allegedly came into her bedroom and she recognized him as a man who had worked on her computer six months ago. He was later identified as Sheldon Cary, 54, of Bangor. She told him to leave, but he didn't until she threatened to call authorities.

Police made contact with Cary and summoned him for criminal trespass.

Wanted man wants to go to jail

OLD TOWN  An Old Town man made things easy for police when he called them seeking a ride to jail. 

On July 9, around 11:25 p.m., Kyle Engstrom, 26, of Old Town, called Old Town police and informed Officer Justin Angelo that he had a warrant for arrest and wanted a ride to jail. Angelo got Engstrom's address and confirmed with dispatch that the man had an active warrant. He then picked up Engstrom and escorted him to Penobscot County Jail without incident.

No, I wanted your name

OLD TOWN  Police say giving a false name and date of birth didn't help a Skowhegan man stay out of jail.

On July 11 at around 2 a.m., Officer Jim Fearon stopped a driver on Bennoch Road who was operating a vehicle poorly. There were two people in the car, the female driver and a male passenger. Fearon explained the reason for the stop and asked for identification from both of them. The man claimed he didn't have an ID on him, but gave Fearon a name and date of birth.

Fearon checked both names, but the man's name came back as not on file. He returned and asked the man again what his name and date of birth was. The man reportedly gave the same name as before but a different date of birth. When the officer ran that name a description came up, but it did not match the man in the passenger seat.

He warned the man about failing to give a correct name and the man finally identified himself as Mark White, 25, of Skowhegan. He had an active warrant for arrest. Fearon placed him under arrest and took him to Penobscot County Jail.
