After reviewing surveillance footage, Deputy Patty McLaughlin was able to identify a possible suspect, which was Done. Detectives John Trask and Bill Flagg apprehended Done for an interview. He subsequently confessed to the robbery and they were able to recover the all of the stolen cash.
Trooper Barry Merserve and his K9 assisted by performing a track to where a vehicle had been parked.
Done, who was on bail for a previous offense, was taken to Penobscot County Jail and charged with robbery and violation of conditions of release.
Eleven Troopers join the ranks
VASSALBORO Eleven Maine State Troopers recently graduated from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy after completing eight weeks of specialized training that was in addition to the 18 weeks of basic law enforcement training.
'You will hear and see things that you can never repeat and will know people's most inner secrets,' said Maine State Police Colonel Robert Williams. 'Unlike most professions, you will be expected to make decisions in a fraction of a second while under tremendous stress, and the public expects nothing less.'
Four of the new troopers will be patrolling the Midcoast, as part of Troop D.
Thomas Bureau of Farmingdale is a graduate of Oak Hill High School and served in the Air Force.
Desiree Wuthenow from Augusta is a graduate of the University of Maine at Augusta. Bureau and Wuthenow will patrol in Waldo County.
Seth Allen of Manchester attended Central Maine Community College and was an automobile mechanic in Augusta.
Erin Ball of Lisbon is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine and served in the Marines. She previously worked at UNUM in Portland. Allen and Ball will patrol Kennebec County.
Being assigned to Troop F in Houlton is Andrew Levesque of Madawaska and Jacob Ferland of Bangor.
Levesque will patrol in northern Aroostook County. Levesque is a former Van Buren police officer and graduated from the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
Ferland will patrol in southern Aroostook County. Ferland is a former Veazie police officer and graduated from Husson University.
Assigned to Troop C in Skowhegan is Blake Conrad of East Andover. Conrad will patrol Somerset County and is a graduate of the University of New England.
Assigned to Troop J in Ellsworth is Jeffrey Taylor II from Bangor. Taylor will patrol in Washington and Hancock counties. He attended the University of Maine and is a member of the National Guard.
Assigned to Troop A in Alfred is Adam Schmidt of Sterling, Mass. Schmidt will patrol in the Lebanon area and is a Westfield State University graduate.
Assigned to Troop E in Orono is Adam Gould of Hermon. Gould is a graduate of Curry College and served in the Army .
Assigned to Troop G, which patrols the Maine Turnpike, is Justin Huntley from Purcellville, VA. Huntley is a former Virginia State Trooper and is a graduate of Husson University.
