BANGOR Organizers of EMMC's Bone Marrow Drive are calling this year's event a great success, with 261 adults added to the registry. Just over 200 people joined the registry at a similar event held last year.

Adults who are added to the registry provide hope for cancer patients who require a life-sustaining transplant. Only four out of 10 people who need a transplant actually receive one, so increasing the pool of potential donors is the only way to improve the odds.
