Registration will be by appointment only on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m. from Oct. 19 to Nov. 21. Families who would like assistance should call 941-2990 to schedule an appointment.

Parents also need to provide proof of dependants, documenting the children who live with them. This includes one of the following for each child: a current TANF statement that lists children, MaineCare ID cards, birth certificates or court papers. Parents should also bring a list for each child with suggestions for one large toy, one small toy, one stocking stuffer, coat size, shoe size, pants size and shirt size.
'We know that there are families who need this extra help as they work to manage their everyday expenses,' said Captain Tim Clark, corps officer of The Salvation Army in Bangor. 'The community supports us so that we can ease the burden of those in need throughout the year, and especially at Christmas time. By giving families the opportunity to register now, we will be able to better use the resources entrusted to us.'
