He was the lone man left in the game of 'Survivor', but there wasn't a thing the 64-year-old plastic surgeon from Texas could do to keep it that way. Greg Smith (a.k.a Tarzan) was unanimously voted out of the game by the other players despite his constant attempts to convince Alica and Kim how advantageous it would be to take him to the final with each of them. I got the chance to speak with Tarzan after the show to get his reaction to how the game has gone thus far.

The Maine Edge: You were the last remaining man in the game, why do you think the women kept you around as long as they did?

Smith: I would like to think it was because I do understand women. I love women in the sense I want them to be the best they can possibly be. The real reason is they sensed the sincerity and the romantic idea that I could embrace my wife on the sands of Samoa. I hope and thought and still think they thrashed all the other guys, so they thought, 'Let's let Tarzan see his wife.' And I totally appreciated that.

TME: A lot of your fellow 'Survivor' contestants were annoyed by you. Are you an annoying person or do you think you are misunderstood?

Smith: They thought I was a fool. I made a chicken trap and no one understood it and it caught 6 chickens. I didn't get credit for that. I had to make a rain barrier that no one would help me with because no one understood that. In a sense, I guess I knew no matter what I said it would go over their heads.

TME: What was the most frustrating part about playing 'Survivor'?

Smith: I had a couple of disappointments. I kept my allegiance to Alicia ever since the Manono II tribe. She even said I'd been a father to her and I truly liked her and thought she deserved to go as far as truly possible. As you saw last night Kim lied to her and I think Sabrina lied to her. Kim told Alicia she was going to be 'Tarzaned' like I had some huge plot against her. Having been with her all those days, I would've expected her to say, 'It's Kim that's playing me or Sabrina that's playing me,' and I was hurt by that. Troyzan and I are real good friends too and I was hurt by Troyzan falling prey to the Salani allegiance.

TME: At 64 did you learn anything new about yourself through 'Survivor'?

Smith: Not at all. I know myself really well.
