"What's unique about the five artists are most of their work is in fine art photography but one is oil on canvas," said Shorette. "They all were very vivid in color and the way they were printed stuck out more than the others."

This 30-day festival provides a venue for artists, photographers, sculptors, painters and the like to showcase their many talents.

"It's an opportunity for them to exhibit in a space they normally wouldn't be in and gives them a platform to get their artwork seen by people here in Bangor who wouldn't normally see it since the artists are from southern Maine or Massachusetts," explained Shorette.

The artists will not be alone at this year's event. Eighteen different musicians will also be participating in the spring gallery, sharing their love of song on any given night at Zen Asian Bistro.

"It [KahBang Arts spring gallery] gives Bangor something to do, and it's just another art or cultural aspect for our area," said Shorette.
