Clipper's the Boss Clipper's the Boss

MAINE - Clipper is a sweet Labrador puppy who loves to get into mischief. Through his adventures on a Maine island, we all 'grow up' with this adorable puppy as he warms our hearts and souls.

Clipper the puppy thinks it's great knowing everything. He's so sure that he is the boss of everyone on his Maine Island. So sure, until one day

'Clipper is a puppy who likes to be the boss, until an adventure makes him reconsider. In this book, we enjoy the beauty of Maine, the kindness of his family and Clipper's own good humor. The pictures are lovely, with beautiful colors,' said Jane McCloskey, author of 'Robert McCloskey: A Private Life in Words and Pictures.'

For her 13th birthday, Anita du Laguna Haviland asked her parents for 'my own typewriter, please. I want to write books for children,' and now more than a few years later, here is her first book about Clipper.

'I'm excited to be able to share my stories about a family in Maine and their puppy, Clipper,' said Haviland.

Inspired by the visual splendor of the natural world and by children discovering it, Ramona du Houx has illustrated four picture books with her unique watercolor technique and is coauthor of 'Seasons,' a children's poetry book.

'I love seeing the eyes of children light up as the turn the pages in Clipper. Then their parents beam with pleasure. That's what makes illustration so worthwhile,' said du Houx. 'So many great childhood memories begin with a good book.'

Du Houx's photographic art has been exhibited worldwide since 1980. For the past 12 years she has worked as a journalist, professional writer and photographer.
