Two-for-one arrest deals in Sullivan
SULLIVAN Police say two people at the same residence ended up going to jail for different reasons last week.
On March 27, Maine State Tprs. Greg Roy and Cliff Peterson responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in Sullivan. The man reported that his juvenile son and Joseph Pinkham, 27, of Ellsworth, were intoxicated and came at him with a bat.
The man's son and Pinkham had fled into the woods prior to the troopers' arrival. They were located in the wooded area and taken into custody without incident. Pinkham was arrested for criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.
As Pinkham was being transported to the Hancock County jail, Roy received a report that Alexandra Carpenter, 22, who was reportedly intoxicated, had left the same residence with the son in her vehicle.
Roy located Carpenter at her residence in Hancock, arrested her for operating under the influence and transported her to the Hancock County jail.

Convicted rapist located in Maine
GORHAM A convicted rapist on the run from Massachusetts since 1978 was captured at his home in Gorham.
Three state troopers assisted a dozen of their counterparts from Massachusetts who tracked down Gary Irving to his home. Irving has lived in Gorham since the early 1980s under the name Gregg Irving.
Irving had been featured on "America's Most Wanted," "Unsolved Mysteries" and "Real Stories" of the Highway Patrol. Massachusetts police had followed leads from all over the country and one of their investigators had just returned from Florida.
Maine State Police will now review any unsolved sexual assault cases based on new information from Irving's capture.
