Her co-conspirator, Don White, is the latest artist out of many that Christine has championed. 'He's such an original; I call him sometimes a blue collar intellectual,'' Lavin says. 'Don has extremely high standards when it comes to what he does onstage. And he hits a grand slam every time. The first time we worked together he opened for me and it's the only time in my entire career that I opened with a ballad because he was so funny, the audience was laughed out.'
A product of the rich Boston Arts Scene of the 90s, Don developed his songwriter/performer chops at Club Passim and Olde Vienna Kaffehaus and the legendary Catch a Rising Star in Harvard Square in Cambridge.
Don White has a new DVD, 'Once More with Feeling' and CD 'More Alive' available for purchase the night of the show. (And no, this is a different Don White than the Camden Select Board person of the same name.)
Tickets are general admission and $17 in advance and $20 the night of the show. Tickets are available at www.camdenoperahouse.com or by calling (207)470-7066, or for no fee walk-up at the Camden Town Office M-F 9 a.m. 3 p.m. # # # # #
