Oct. 7: Free Live Taping of The Nite Show with Danny Cashman Gracie Theatre at Husson University 60 p.m. www.niteshow.com.

Oct. 7: Thomas Hill Standpipe fall foliage tour, 3-6 p.m. Free and open to the public.

Oct. 7: Commission on Cultural Development Education Workshop: Marketing, Networking, & Representation for Artists, 6-7:30 p.m., Bangor Public Library. Free and open to the public.

Oct. 8: 5:30-8:30 pm A workshop at Maine Jewelry & Art on the basics of creating metal jewelry using brass and copper using various techniques. Sterling silver available. Take home several finished pieces. $75, ages 15-plus. 100 Harlow St. RSVP 941-8600.

Oct. 9: UMMA 40 Harlow Street, Bangor Bruce Brown Collecting Art: A Happy Obsession. Free and open to the public, 12 noon.

Oct. 10: Her Majesty's Cabaret Five Year Anniversary Party and MiniFilm Festival, 8-11 p.m. at Coespace, 48 Columbia Street. Screening at 9 p.m. of a selection of HMC's many comedic short films from over the years.

Oct. 10-18: Opening of Student Art Exhibition at the Bangor Mall, featuring work from students at Bangor High School, the Indian Island School, Husson University, and Eastern Maine Community College. Art on display through Oct. 18. Sponsored by the Commission for Cultural Development and the Maine Community Foundation.

Oct. 11: Norumbega Collective presents a reading from poets Seth Landman and Jess Fjeld, 7 p.m. at the Central Gallery, 89 Central Street. Free.

Oct. 13: Bangor Greendrinks, 5-8 p.m., Epic Sports, Central Street, downtown Bangor. $5 donation accepted at the door.

Oct. 13: The Bangor Symphony Orchestra presents performance from percussionist and composer John Mehrmann, 7 p.m., Nocturnem Draft Haus, 56 Main St. Free and open to the public.

Oct. 13: Legal Considerations for Artists Presenter: Adria LaRose, Esq., Eaton Peabody Time: noon to 2 p.m. Location: 40 Harlow Street, Bangor. From protecting your intellectual property to choosing a legal form for your artistic business, an understanding of underlying legal principles will help you make smarter choices. This session centers on information about copyrights and contract basics regarding selling and licensing your work, as well as getting into business.

Oct. 14: Mindful Sketching with Kay Carter, open sketching class, 3-5 p.m. at the Bangor Land Trust Office, 8 Harlow St. Oct. 14: Opening of October Art Haus Show at the Art Haus Gallery at Nocturnem Draft Haus, featuring Cornapple, aka Art Gowie, graphic designer, painter and illustrator. 7 p.m.
