'The beauty of the night sky has fascinated artists for centuries and it continues to capture our imagination,' said Carl Little, juror for the event. 'When we read about "dark matter" or watch images arrive from a Mars rover named Curiosity or simply gaze at the night sky, wonder takes over.

'Downeast Maine is a great place to view the night sky.  When I come home to Somesville from a late trip on a clear night and walk up the path to my house, I'm apt to veer off into the backyard just to look up and be swept away.'Schoodic Creates offers a unique opportunity to experience one place's creative economy on your own terms. This tour allows you to see a wide variety of artistic and creative endeavors, but also gives you a chance to experience them firsthand.
