ELLSWORTH - The Grand announces the first in the Fall 2012 series of Hi Def simulcasts from The National Theatre of London: a theatrical adaptation of 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time' (based on Mark Haddon's bestselling novel) on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 2 p.m.

Christopher (Luke Treadaway), 15 years old, stands beside Mrs Shears' dead dog, Wellington. It has been speared with a garden fork, it is seven minutes after midnight and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in his book to solve the mystery. He has an extraordinary brain - exceptional at math but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world.

Mark Haddon's novel was on The New York Times best-seller list in 2004 and has now sold over 2 million copies around the world. This production was adapted for the stage by Simon Stephens, twice Best Foreign Playwright of the Year and the author of many original plays and adaptations. Supporting Treadaway is a sterling ensemble cast that includes Matthew Barker, Niamh Cusack, Sophie Duval, Rhiannon Harper-Rafferty, Paul Ritter, Nick Sidi, Una Stubbs, Nicola Walker and Howard Ward.

So bring a friend and share the experience at The Grand. The NT Live production is hailed by The Telegraph as 'intensely, innately theatrical; it is also funny and extremely moving in the manner of the RSC's legendary Nicholas Nickleby.''

Please note tickets are as follows: $17 general admission, $15 for seniors, $14 for members, $12 for students and $10 for youth 12 and under.

The Grand is proud to be presenting a new season of NT Live Hi Def theatrical simulcasts from The National Theatre of London, including the upcoming production of Julie Walters and Rory Kinnear in 'The Last of the Hausmans' on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m.
