BREWER This April, singer Kristyn Murphy, a 2008 alumnus of John Bapst Memorial High School, will take center stage in Manhattan in April to debut a new show titled Lovers & Monsters with co-star Abbie Stands of Allentown, PA and Maine-based pianist Colin Graebert. Set to tour the East Coast and parts of the Midwest starting this spring, the Lovers & Monsters show is a creation of Maine-based multi-media company Krisolyte Productions and AK Touring, a new company that focuses on bringing live entertainment and revenue to historic venues, in order to help keep them maintained and to help in the restoration process.

Those in the greater Bangor area will be given a rare opportunity to attend a special preview event on March 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Next Generation Theatre in Brewer, which is located at 39 Center Street in Brewer. Tickets are $15 and are available for purchase through www.loversandmonsters.com or by calling the Next Generation Theatre at (207) 989-7100.

'We are excited to preview Lovers & Monsters at the Next Generation Theatre,' says Murphy. 'We hope folks will attend the event and come enjoy an evening music and learn more about this project.'

Lovers & Monsters is a new cabaret-style show that follows the story of two women brought together after an unintentional audition for the circus.

'The colorful moments of romance, the childish ways we hold to and the exotic people we encounter help shape the songs and stories in the narrative of these two women as they explore their own Lovers & Monsters,'' explains Stands.

'We are thrilled to be performing in many historic opera houses and theatres during our 2016 tour,' Murphy says. 'So often these places are overlooked, but they have so much to offer their communities. We are striving to give people a reason to come visit and spend time in these amazing venues.'

The full show will be returning to Maine in July as part of the season tour, and is currently seeking business sponsors interested in advertising during the 2016 tour, as well as charitable donors interested in supporting the show's mission to keep historic venues thriving.
