Each year, KahBang Arts raises funds to continue expanding the Art Festival's year-round programming which, in Jan. 2013, grew to include the KahBang Film Festival (www.kahabangfilmfest.org). KBA has selected the Children's Tumor Foundation as this year's co-benefactor of the inaugural Electric Dash and is proud to sport blue and green glow sticks in support of their amazing mission and dedication to ending neurofibromatosis (NF) through research.
'We are so thrilled to be a part of the 5th Annual KahBang Festival and Electric Dash,' said Kristine Poirier, Volunteer Relations coordinator at the Children's Tumor Foundation. 'KahBang and Children's Tumor Foundation share a commitment to providing support in our communities, and this event is a terrific way to support two very worthy causes and have fun while doing it!'
The Children's Tumor Foundation is the leading non-government funding source of NF research, which is shedding new light on cancer, brain tumors, learning disabilities and bone abnormalities - ultimately benefiting the broader community, in addition to those with NF. NF can lead to deafness, blindness, learning disabilities, bone abnormalities, disfigurement and cancer and affects 1 in every 3,000 children born.
KahBang Arts is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the discovery, development, and support of independent artists. KBA seeks to connect innovative, creative practitioners with resources for creation, exhibition and collaboration while encouraging freedom of expression, diversity and art as a means of communicating both individual and community values. By providing year-round creative and financial support for development in the vast spectrum of the arts, KBA remains committed to its mission to discover and support artists.
